What is an amputee stump sock?
An amputee stump sock (also called a residual limb sock or amputation sock) is a soft, printed cover worn over the residual limb. Ours are 3-ply, 85% polyester / 15% spandex, moisture-wicking, and made for below-the-knee (BK) and above-the-knee (AK) amputees.
What's the difference between a stump sock and a stump shrinker?
A stump shrinker is a tight, graduated-compression garment used to reduce swelling and shape the limb, usually early after surgery. A decorative stump sock like ours is a comfortable, printed cover worn for style and light protection — it is not a medical compression device. Many amputees use both. Read the full comparison here.
Are your stump socks a medical or compression device?
No. Our socks are decorative, expressive covers — 3-ply 85% polyester / 15% spandex with light support, moisture-wicking and UV protection. They are not graduated-compression medical devices. For medical compression, follow your prosthetist's guidance.
Do I wear the sock under my prosthesis or on its own?
Our decorative stump socks are made to be worn over the residual limb — for comfort, protection and style when you're out of your prosthesis (relaxing, healing, around the house) — and they can be worn over a shrinker. They are not the functional ply sock worn inside your socket.
What sizes and limb levels do you offer?
Socks come in BK REG and BK LRG for below-the-knee amputees and ATKA for above-the-knee amputees, plus arm-sock sizes on select designs. Prosthetic sleeves come in XL and XXL. See our size guide to measure.
Will a prosthetic sleeve cover fit my leg?
Our prosthetic sleeve covers are lightweight and stretchy, and slip over your socket or pylon. Choose XL or XXL based on your measurements — check the size guide, and contact us if you're between sizes.
Do you make covers for arm amputees?
Yes — arm-sock sizes are available on select designs, and any design can be made custom. Contact us if you'd like a specific print in an arm size.
Will a stump sock help with sweating or odor?
The polyester-spandex fabric is moisture-wicking (hydrophobic), so moisture passes through the fabric instead of soaking in, helping keep your residual limb drier and more comfortable through the day. It's a comfort feature, not a medical antiperspirant treatment.
Do the socks and sleeves offer UV protection?
Yes — our socks and sleeves offer UV protection while keeping you comfortable during everyday wear.
Shipping, returns & the company
Where are your products made?
Every sock, sleeve and shirt is printed and shipped in the USA, from Palm Bay, Florida.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed in 2–5 business days (Mon–Fri) and ship via USPS First-Class or Priority Mail. US orders over $45 ship free. You'll get a tracking number by email.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship worldwide, with rates calculated at checkout. Any customs duties or import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
What is your return policy?
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return on unworn items with tags and original packaging. Email info@amputeesockprints.com to start — approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.
Can I return a custom or personalized item?
Custom items — anything with your own photo, text or logo — can't be returned. If your custom order arrives damaged or defective, contact us right away and we'll make it right.
Are the socks machine washable and durable?
Yes. Turn inside out, wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, and air-dry when possible; avoid bleach and high heat to protect the print. The polyester-spandex fabric has strong recovery, so it holds its shape wear after wear.
Is Amputee Sock Prints an established company?
Yes. We're a US small business based in Palm Bay, Florida, founded by Sidney Muniz and inspired by Sidney's mother after her amputation. We were featured in Amplitude Magazine, which called us the world's first and only customizable amputee sock line.

What's a good gift for a new amputee?
For someone recovering, comfortable everyday stump socks in an uplifting design are a thoughtful choice — soft, moisture-wicking, and a bright change from plain medical covers. A gift card lets them pick their own design when they're ready.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — digital gift cards are available and are a great option when you're not sure which design someone will love.
Custom & pricing
Can I put my own design or photo on a sock or sleeve?
Yes. Use our customizer to upload your own image, logo or text onto a sock, prosthetic sleeve, t-shirt, pillow or wheelchair plate. For the sharpest print, use a high-resolution image. Custom items are made to order and aren't returnable.
How much do amputee socks cost?
Most designs are $21.99–$24.99, and you save 15% when you buy two or more.
